NC native Suzy Hooker is a tattoo artist, podcast host/producer, and fat activist.

Although it took her 45 years to figure out she could have a mohawk if she wanted one, Suzy is showing up more authentically and unapologetically than ever before.

As of 2025, Suzy is pursuing a career shift from the entertainment industry and studio artistry to working as a tattoo artist. Her previous work in scenic painting for theater, and working as a text-based artist in paint, woodblock print, and textiles during her tenure at Anchorlight Raleigh has equipped her well for the next phase of her artistic career. Stay tuned for Hooker Ink!

The podcast that Suzy created, co-hosts, and co-produces (Fat and Fucked: Where Fat Sex and Fat Justice Collide) is ranked in the top 5% of all podcasts globally. Turns out that fat people deserve dignity and respect, and they have a lot of sex, too. Be fat, be fab, and be free! Find Fat and Fucked anywhere you listen to your pods.

Currently she resides in the mountains of NC, where she is an aspiring bog witch. LIKES: cold-water swimming, loose women, fresh art supplies, sequins on fat bodies, and breaking the cycles of generational trauma. DISLIKES: genocide, late-stage capitalism, TERFs, and humidity.
